You were born into a smoldering world of suffering and desperation. Civilizations on the surface world are struggling to recover from a cataclysmic event which turned the surface into a desert waste nearly three thousand years ago. This event - known worldwide as the Planeshift - left entire empires shattered, seas and lakes dried up, and powerful knowledge lost forever. Oases and underground water-flows are some of the only natural sources of fresh water left, forcing creatures from all walks of life to aggressively adapt to the harsh environment or perish forever.

About the Campaign

At its core, the Wasteland campaign revolves primarily around roleplaying. Although combat will most likely occur at least once every play session, Wasteland is not a hack-and-slash dungeon crawl. Meta-gamers, munchkins, and rules-lawyers will likely not enjoy this campaign.
The players and their characters are not the only ones pushing their agenda in the world. Political intrigue, investigations, bureaucracy, plot twists, and world changing events lay ahead. The players will be confronted with choices that may not have obvious right or wrong answers, so expect to make plenty of difficult decisions and to accept their consequences.
Wasteland is a low-magic campaign, but in no way are players discouraged from playing spellcasting classes. Powerful magic has been lost since the events of the Planeshift, so characters may need to research and discover some spells on their own. Do not expect to run into other spellcasters often, or to see an abundance of magic items in any marketplace. Also be aware that casting spells in the open may draw both good and bad attention to yourself.

New Players

There is a large amount of information on this wiki, however the only required reading for new players is the Character Creation page. The rest of this wiki is simply a database for the players to use how they wish.
