By studying the ancient ruins from the time before the Planeshift, scholars now know that there were once many more deities than the handful that are revered today. Some of the recovered knowledge seems to suggest the gods once communicated with their mortal followers, and even played an active role in the goings-on of the Material Plane. But this is not the case today.
Since the War of Ashes began, entire faiths have been annihilated, their followers murdered, and temples shattered by the Burning Hand. Although clerics of other faiths do still exist, they do not typically let their presence or their magical powers be known for fear of being hunted by the Burning Hand.

Death
Some revere, some fear, but all must respect Death. Death does not need to seek followers in the traditional sense, and cares nothing for temples built in Death's honor; all things will face Death's door one day. The holy symbol of Death is the scythe.
Creation Myth: Followers of Death tell the tale that once a great force of creation existed. This force chaotically manifesting all things that could be, both imaginable and unimaginable. One of these manifestations was the concept of death and the reality that all things die or change over time. This included the force of creation itself, and thus Death overtook the force and destroyed it leaving all of creation to simmer until all things have evaporated into nothing.
Krug
This murderous deity finds most of his faithful within the ranks of the orc-kin. His followers claim that the will of Krug brought about the Planeshift, but this belief is not commonly shared by Krug's enemies. His faithful also believe that Krug exists within their blood, and that every battle which draws blood also brings forth the will of Krug. The followers of Krug are savage and wicked creatures, and fierce enemies of Luna and her elven faithful. The holy symbol of Krug is a single jagged tusk.
Creation Myth: Krug's followers do not believe in a single point or event of creation. Disciples teach that he was once an orc, and ascended to the ranks of godhood countless years ago.
Luna
Patron deity of the elves, worshiped by all who command nature's creations. The lady of the old forests, at least when there were forests... The Draegoth Empire worshiped Luna above all of their other deities, as she is not only the mother of nature but also of magic itself. The holy symbol of Luna is a crescent moon.
Creation Myth: To the followers of Luna, the concept of creation is often a confusing one. To them, Luna is the moon and the moon has always existed. From her light came the forests, animals, and the elves. Mortals are born, but Luna is ever present.
Morgrynn
Said to be the only deity ascended from a mortal. He is the father of the dwarves, and nearly every smith pays homage to his name. Clan Morgrynn claims that its high generals received valuable counsel from Morgrynn's avatar during the Blood War, or so the stories go. The holy symbol of Morgrynn is a hammer and anvil.
Creation Myth: The dwarves believe that Morgrynn is such a powerful artisan that he simply created his self from nothingness. Once alive, he then forged the worlds and used the earth of the mountains to give life to the dwarven people and teach them his craft.
Nature
Although not organized into a singular faith, all druids essentially worship Nature. Many elven scriptures mention Luna as "drawing from the stream of Nature" or "weaving Nature into her forests". Clerics who follow these principals are considered to be Nature's highest order of acolytes. Nature is not a specific being or entity at all, but a force or method by which the Elemental Chaos is manifested on the Material Plane. The holy symbol of Nature is a lone deciduous tree.
Creation Myth: Followers of Nature do not tell the story of a single event of creation, but that multiple planar existences have occurred in the past and will again in the future. Entire universes, independent of each other, sprout from Nature like leaves from a tree. They grow, then wither, then die only to have a new one grow in its place.
Old Gods
Players may feel free to import a deity from another campaign, or even make one for themselves provided it reasonably fits within the campaign's setting. These deities are called the Old Gods, and were worshiped in a time before the Planeshift. If you are creating your own deity, that deity can have a maximum of four domains, at least three of which must be from the Player's Handbook.
Sun
Faith of the Burning Hand empire. All who worship the Sun draw strength from its harsh embrace and torturous tests. Holy warriors of the Sun are feared wielders of the flame, and are the most terrifying followers of any deity. The holy symbol of the Sun is a brass statuette of a blazing sun.
Creation Myth: The Sun's disciples believe all existence began with a great sunrise, the birth of all light and heat. From that birth also came the world, and the Sun stands vigilant to cut down those too weak to stand its tests.
